By the end of this lesson you should be able to: Trace the development of the cell theory: all living things are made up of one or more cells and the materials produced by these, cells are functional units of life, and all cells come from pre-existing cells (e.g., from Aristotle to Hooke, Pasteur, Brown, and Schwann and Schleiden; recognize that there are sub-cellular particles, such as viruses and prions, which have some characteristics of living cells)
